A Wheelchair OEM Checklist for Evaluating Lithium Battery Packs
Oct.31, 2026
Battery selection for powered mobility requires approval at the equipment level. A pack that shares a nominal voltage or connector shape with an existing battery is not automatically an approved replacement. Build the evaluation around the wheelchair model and its documented electrical and mechanical requirements.
What to Verify Before Selecting a Battery
Equipment approval
Identify the wheelchair make, model, controller and manufacturer requirements before recommending a change of battery chemistry.
Mechanical fit
Review the approved pack drawing, mounting arrangement, service access, connectors and cable routing with the equipment team.
Electrical behavior
Confirm charging limits, current demand, low-battery indications and the equipment response to protective battery disconnects.
Traceable documents
Match specifications, transport test summaries and service instructions to the exact battery model and revision.
A Worked Comparison
The PP75 datasheet calculation is 25.6V × 75Ah = 1,920Wh, or 1.92kWh nominal energy. This is a label-based energy calculation, not a distance claim. Runtime and travel distance require the approved wheelchair configuration, user load, terrain and operating conditions. Use manufacturer guidance to select and validate the installation.
Where Wiren Fits
Wiren Pawprint is a 25.6V LiFePO4 battery family described in the company series datasheet. The PP75 model lists 75Ah and 1.92kWh of nominal energy. Evaluation should be led by the wheelchair manufacturer or qualified integration partner, with attention to the exact vehicle, charger, mounting, connectors and control behavior.

Buyer Questions
Is a lithium pack a universal replacement for wheelchair lead-acid batteries?
No. Obtain the wheelchair manufacturer’s approval and verify the complete configuration before a replacement or conversion.
Does a test report for a similar battery cover this model?
Not automatically. Verify the model, electrical configuration, manufacturer, report scope and revision against the battery being supplied.
Can charging settings be copied across the Pawprint family?
Use the exact model documentation. A family name is not evidence that all models share the same charging limits or protection behavior.
Is air travel automatically permitted?
No general travel approval is claimed here. Provide the exact battery and mobility-device information to the airline and confirm its current requirements before travel.
