Identify the Chemistry and Maintenance Instructions
Begin by identifying the battery model, its approved charging arrangement and the manufacturer's inspection guidance. Separate operator observations from tasks requiring qualified service personnel. A sealed battery should not be treated like a product designed for routine access to internal components, and maintenance practices should not be transferred between chemistries without approval.
Monitor Condition and Follow Charging Procedures

Build a Maintenance Record and Review Findings
Keep records of inspections, operating issues and corrective actions. Review trends with the service provider instead of assuming that a single maintenance task will deliver a fixed life extension.
