Wiren U5 and EG4 Inverters: Compatibility Checks

Compatibility between a Wiren U5 battery and an EG4 inverter must be confirmed for the exact equipment and firmware combination. A brand name, nominal battery voltage or matching communication connector is not enough to establish a supported configuration.
Identify the Inverter and Battery Versions
Record the full EG4 inverter model, firmware version and relevant installation manual. Add the U5 model or revision, BMS version, number of battery modules and current system arrangement. Supply photographs of equipment labels where they help identify the hardware.
Confirm the Approved Communication Configuration
Request written confirmation of the supported operating mode, communication protocol and cable pin assignment for that combination. Do not select a protocol because an earlier example used a related inverter platform. Any addressing, termination or configuration requirements must come from the applicable integration instructions.
Check the Reported Data and Operating Limits
Ask the installer to verify that the inverter receives the expected battery data and respects the approved charging and discharge limits. Agree how communication faults and protective events should be handled. A connected status display does not by itself establish that all required values are interpreted correctly.
Use the Model-Specific Commissioning Guide
Have the qualified installer commission the system using the confirmed documentation and retain the final settings and test record. If compatibility has not been documented, resolve it with the suppliers before changing protocol or charge settings.
When contacting Wiren, include both model identifiers and firmware details so the request can be reviewed for the actual installation.
